As we come to the end of the school year, we at Pets in the Classroom want to remind you that there is still time to redeem your grant coupons or turn in your receipts if you have not already done so (June 30th is the deadline for all grant reimbursement).  Remember, a teacher can only apply for one animal grant per lifetime, so don’t miss out on getting your classroom pet through our grant program!

Also, if you have not applied for a Pets in the Classroom grant this school year, there is still time!  Summer is a great time for you to get acclimated with your pet! Getting to know your new pet, its habits, its needs, and its character before the new school year will help you be confident in your ability to transition your pet to the classroom without adding to the stress of an already hectic time.

Remember, you can apply for one animal grant per teacher per lifetime, but after you receive your animal grant, you can apply for a sustaining grant each additional school year! We believe in the value of classroom pets and the impact they can have in the lives of students, so we want to make it financially possible for teachers to have classroom pets!
